On August 25th our very own James Darby will be honored on the field before the Cubs take on the Nationals at the 19th annual Out at Wrigley!

Jim will be the first LGBTQ veteran to receive this honor and we as an organization are very proud of all he has done not just for AVER Chicago, but also for his service to our country.

This year AVER Chicago will be participating in Proud to Run 2019 5K and we are inviting you to join our team! You can run or walk this event sponsored by Front runners/ Front walkers Chicago.

Come out and kick off Pride weekend with your fellow veterans and learn more about what AVER Chicago does for our brothers and sisters in arms.

As part of Chicago’s LGBTQ Pride Week activities since 1982, Proud To Run (PTR) is an annual 10K run & 5K run/walk along the lakefront, focused on celebrating pride in and raising funds to support the greater Chicago area LGBTQ community. In 2016 we had a record turnout of more than 1,800 registrants. Overall, more than 2,200 people participated in this year’s event by running, walking, volunteering and sponsoring.
